T&V Creamer & Open Sugar Bowl
A hard-to-find creamer and rare open sugar bowl in the Holly Berry Christmas pattern by Tressemann & Vogt.
Marked T&V France and dates between 1892-1907.
The pattern is sprigs of hand painted green holly leaves and red berries. The sprigs are dashed about a robust green background on pure white china, with elaborately hand painted gold trim creating an elegant and rich design.
This is the ONLY open sugar bowl that I have ever seen in this pattern!
No Chips, cracks, or scratches on the creamer. The sugar bowl was repaired sometime before I purchased it. I immediately spotted it, but my wife and others that have seen it didn't notice it until I pointed it out. At some point the end of the open sugar bowl was either chipped or broken and then repaired and repainted.
This is - to be debated by fellow holly china collectors - THE FINEST and most elaborately decorated patterns made by this premier French Limoges porcelain company.
This is a fine pair... with a modest price.
Pair price including insured shipping... $465. SOLD
